7.17.2—NON-DISCRIMINATION IN FOOD SERVICE PROGRAMS
In accordance with Federal law and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) regulations, the Valley View School District shall not exclude from participation in, deny the benefits of, or subject to discrimination any individual as part of any of the District’s food service programs on the basis of race, ethnicity, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, or disability.

The District shall not allow reprisal or retaliation against any individual for prior civil rights activity.

Food service program information may be made available in languages other than English. Persons with disabilities who require alternative means of communication to obtain food service program information (e.g., Braille, large print, audiotape, American Sign Language), should contact the District, Child Nutrition Unit of the Division of Elementary and Secondary Education of the Arkansas Department of Education, or the USDA’s
TARGET Center at (202) 720-2600 (voice and TTY) or contact USDA through the Federal Relay Service at (800) 877-8339.

To file a food service program discrimination complaint, a Complainant should:
• Complete a USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form (Form AD-3027), which can be obtained: o Online at Here

o Calling any USDA office at (866) 632-9992; or
• Writing a letter addressed to USDA that:


a. Contains:
1. The complainant’s name, address, and telephone number; and
2. A written description of the alleged discriminatory action in sufficient detail to inform the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights (ASCR) about the nature and date of an alleged civil rights violation; and


b. Submitted to USDA by:
