She was a member of the Valley View Cheer Team from 7th-12th grade, which included being a 5A State Champion and an All-State Cheerleader. She is currently serving as a 6th grade ELA teacher at VVIS. Anna’s favorite memories of being a student at Valley View include being Mrs. Turley's library aide, being apart of the Yearbook Club with Mr. Rushing, and cheering under the Friday night lights! This is an automated message from Valley View Public Schools.  At approximately 2:00 PM today, Friday, September 27, 2024, three students made a report to administration that a Valley View Intermediate student made a threatening statement at approximately 12:40pm.  The student stated that he was going to shoot up the school.   As soon as the report was made, the intermediate administration and School Resource Officers (SROs) initiated an investigation of the statement that was made by the student. It was determined that the student did make the threatening statement. SROs reported this action to JPD's Criminal Investigation Division and the student was transported to JPD for further investigation. Regular dismissal procedures remained in place following these actions. Our district continues to be committed to ensuring the safety of students and staff at all times. We investigate every report made. If you or your child see or hear anything of concern, please report it to the principal of your child’s building. Quick communication allows us to work with the appropriate authorities and respond promptly to any potential issues, as shown through the prompt response today.
